Two stones of mass 10g and 1kg are dropped from same height on a glass table. Which stone will have more momentum and why?
Answers
✏✏because the mass is different but the velocity is equal 9.8m/s2
✏✏When we dropped down the stone at same time same velocity than they both will reach at the ground at same time.
✏✏Variation came only in change of gravity .
Answer:
F = ma , where
M- mass and A- acceleration
So here acceleration is due to gravity which remains same for all objects i.e. 9.8m/sec.
And mass is 10kg and 1 kg
So the net force pulling the stones will be
F — 98N (10kg stone) and
F — 9.8N (1kg stone)
Since more force is on 10kg stone thus it will reach the ground first .
If the buoyancy , air drag and net aerodynamic resistance remain same foe both the bodies
Only in one condition 1 kg stone will fall first if
The opposing force is more than 88.2N which includes buoyancy, aerodynamic resistance etc.
