two students A and B got the mixture of iron filling and sulphur is heated the mixture strongly but we kept it as it is they divided the mixture for the into three parts and did the same test tabulate the observation when both added HCL to a part of their mixture.
both added carbon disulphide to another mixture
boat used magnet to separate its constituents on the last part of the mixture.

(i)dilute hydrochloric has reacted with iron sulphide of student 'A' to evolve hydrogen sulphide gas.Whereas the acid has reacted with iron fillings of student 'B' to evolve hydrogen gas
(ii)carbon disulphide will not dissolve iron sulphide present in compound of student 'A'.Whereas it has dissolved in sulphur present in mixture of student 'B'.
(iii)iron fillings present in the mixture of student 'B' got attracted towards the magnet .Whereas iron sulphide of student 'A 'does not get attracted towards the magnet
This shows that the iron sulphide which is formed by heating is a compound, whereas the other is a mixture. Therefore , the iron sulphide of student 'A' did not show its constituents property whereas the mixture of student 'B' showed the property of its constituents
