Let the marks scored by A be x and B be y .(x>y)

x-y =24

x=24+y

x =65/100 (x+y) ......(Given that value of x is 65%of their sum)

Substitution method,

24 + y = 65/100 (24+y+y)

24+y=15.6 + 1.3y

-0.3 y =15.6-24

0.3 y = 8.4

y=28

x=52

Marks scored by B is 28 and A is 52
