let first angle= x degrees

let second angle be= x+40 degrees ( as is given in the question)

we know that both angles are supplementary. so, their sum

according to the question:-

x+x+40=180

2x=180-40

2x=140

x=140/2

x=70 degrees

therefore, angle 1= 70 degrees

and angle 2 = 70+40= 110 degrees

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Since,

The sum of two supplimentary angles = 180 degrees

Given that

Difference of the two supplimentary angles = 40

Let, 1st supplimentary angle = x

and

So, 2nd Supplimentary angles = x + 40

a/q

Sum of the two supplimentary angles = x + (x + 40)

=2x + 40 = 180

= 2x = 180 - 40 = 140

= x = 140/2 = 70 degrees

1st angle = x = 70 degrees

2nd angle = x+40 = 70+40 = 110 degrees

So, the larger angle = 110 degree
