Answer:

20/7 min = 2.86 Mins

Step-by-step explanation:

Two taps can separately fill a tank in 12 min and 15 min. The first tap was replaced with a tap of double the radius and the second tap was replaced with a tap of half the radius. Now in what time will the tank get filled?

First Tap can fill in 12 mins

First Tap can fill in 1 min = 1/12

Second Tap can fill in 15 mins

Second Tap can fill in 1 min = 1/15

Both Tap can fill in 1 Min = 1/12 + 1/15 =  9/60  = 3/20

Both Tap can fill Tank = 20/3 Mins = 6.67 Mins

First Tap replaced with a tap of double the radius

so volume increased by 4 times

Time taken will reduced by 4 time

Now First Tap can fill in 12/4 = 3 mins

First Tap now can fill in 1 min = 1/3

Second Tap replaced with a tap of half the radius

so volume decreased by 4 times

Time taken will increase by 4 time

Now Second Tap can fill in 15 * 4 = 60 mins

First Tap now can fill in 1 min = 1/60

Both Taps Now can fill in 1 min  = 1/3 + 1/60  =  21/60 = 7/20

Both Tap can now fill the tank in = 20/7 min

= 2.86 Mins
