Two test tubes were taken. Test tube ‘A’ has vinegar and test tube ‘B’ has baking soda. What colour change would you observe when a piece of red litmus paper is dropped in each test tube and why?

Answer:

Change in colour in litmus paper-

Acid- blue litmus to red

Base- red litmus to blue

If we will put red litmus paper in test tube A which has vinegar in it so it will have no effect on it because acid is blue litmus to red but the litmus paper is already red.

If we will put red litmus paper in test tube B which has baking soda in it so it will change to blue because base is red litmus to blue.
