Two thin lenses, one of focal length +60 cm and other of focal length -20 cm are put in contact . The combined focal length is ?

1/ fe = 1/f1 + 1/f2
1/ fe = 1/60 - 1/20
= (1 - 3)/60
fe = -30 cm ANSWER.
