Two toy trains, A and B run towards each other on a conveyor belt of length 2500m The speed of train A is 35 m/s and speed of train B is 15 m/s
What is the time taken by trains to collide, if the speed of the conveyor belt is 10 m/s?
Answers
Answer:
time takaen to collide is ==Distance/speed
speed of train == 35+15(opposite direction speed will add) =50m/s
then time to collide==2500/50==50 sec
Given :-
- Speed of train A = 35m/s
- Speed of train B = 15m/s .
- Length of conveyor belt = 2500 m.
- speed of conveyor belt = 10 m/s .
Solution :-
→ usual speed of Train A and conveyor belt = 35 - 10 = 25 m/s
and,
→ usual speed of Train A and conveyor belt = 15 - 10 = 5 m/s
since both trains are in opposite directions. Their speed will add.
so,
→ usual speed of train A and train B = 25 + 5 = 30 m/s .
and,
→ Distance to be covered = Length of conveyor belt = 2500 m .
then,
→ Time taken by trains to collide = Distance / speed = 2500 / 30 = (250/3) seconds = 83.33 seconds. (Ans.)
