Answer:

time takaen to collide is ==Distance/speed

speed of train == 35+15(opposite direction speed will add) =50m/s

then time to collide==2500/50==50 sec

Given :-

  • Speed of train A = 35m/s
  • Speed of train B = 15m/s .
  • Length of conveyor belt = 2500 m.
  • speed of conveyor belt = 10 m/s .

Solution :-

→ usual speed of Train A and conveyor belt = 35 - 10 = 25 m/s

and,

→ usual speed of Train A and conveyor belt = 15 - 10 = 5 m/s

since both trains are in opposite directions. Their speed will add.

so,

→ usual speed of train A and train B = 25 + 5 = 30 m/s .

and,

→ Distance to be covered = Length of conveyor belt = 2500 m .

then,

→ Time taken by trains to collide = Distance / speed = 2500 / 30 = (250/3) seconds = 83.33 seconds. (Ans.)
