Step-by-step explanation:

Total distance= 125+175=300

Total speed=40-22=18km/hr

=18*5/18=5m/s

time =distance/speed

t=300/5

t=60s

t=1min.

They will completely pass one another in 60 sec.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Length of first train = 125 m

Length of second train = 175 m

Speed of first train = 40 km/hr

Speed of second train = 22 km/hr

Since they are in the same direction, so we get that

\dfrac{125+175}{(40-22)\times \dfrac{5}{18}}=t\\\\\dfrac{300}{18\times \dfrac{5}{18}}=t\\\\t=\dfrac{300}{5}\\\\t=60

Hence, they will completely pass one another in 60 sec.
