Given :

Two trains of length 500m and 1000m moving in oppsite direction with same speed crosses each other in 10s.

To Find :

We have to find speed of each train.

Solution :

⟶ Let velocity of train A be V and that of train B be -V [-ve sign shows opposite direction]

✼ Relative velocity train A wrt B

➝ V(AB) = V(A) - V(B)

➝ V(AB) = V - (-V)

V(AB) = 2V

✼ Total path length to be covered by each train = 500 + 1000 = 1500m

We know that, speed is defined as the ratio of distance travelled to the time taken.

⇒ Speed = Distance/Time

⇒ 2V = 1500/10

⇒ 2V = 150

⇒ V = 150/2

V = 75m/s

Speed of each train = 75m/s.
