distance traveled by the 40 km /hr train=x
the distance traveled by 45 km /hr train =x+40
let t be the meeting time
x=40t (1)
x+40=45t (2)
by substituting we get t=8
x=320 km(1st case
x+40=360 km(2ndcase)
360+320=680 km
so the two stations are 680 km apart
the distance traveled by 45 km /hr train =x+40
let t be the meeting time
x=40t (1)
x+40=45t (2)
by substituting we get t=8
x=320 km(1st case
x+40=360 km(2ndcase)
360+320=680 km
so the two stations are 680 km apart
