Solution

Given :-

  • One train takes 12 hours to cover a distance of 1500 km
  • Another train takes 14 hours to cover a distance of 1700

Find :-

  • Which train runs faster

Explanation

Using Formula

\dag\boxed{\underline{\tt{\red{\:Speed\:=\:\dfrac{Distance}{Time}}}}}

Let,

  • Speed of first train = S
  • Speed of second train = S'
  • Distance of first train = D = 1500
  • Distance of second train = D' = 1700
  • Time of first train = T = 12 hours
  • Time of Second train = T' = 14 hours

Now, Calculate speed of first train

==> Speed = D/T

Keep all above Values,

==> Speed(S) = 1500/12

==> Speed (S) = 125 km/h

Since,

  • Speed of first train be = 125 km/h

Now, Calculate speed of second train

==> Speed (S') = D'/T'

Keep all above Values,

==> Speed(S') = 1700/14

==> Speed(S') = 121.42 km/h

Since

  • Speed of second train be = 121.42 km/h

Here,

Speed of first train is more than second train

Since, We Can say that,

  • Speed of first train is faster than second .
