Two trains starting at the same time from two stations 200 km apart and going in opposite directions cross each other at a distance of 110 km from one of the stations. What is the ratio of their speeds?

It is not mentioned whether the trains are moving with constant velocity or with some acceleration.

If you consider them to be moving with constant speeds:

displacement = speed*time

take the speeds of the trains as v1 and v2

using the formula,

110 = v1 x t

and 90 = v2 x t

where t is the time taken by the trains to travel that displacement, which is same for both the trains.

now u can divide both the equations to get the ratio

v_1/v_2 = 11/9

Answer:

11:9

Explanation:

Given  distance 200km as total

cross each other at 110km

the remaining is 200-110=90

So,110:90   =>11:9
