R2 = magnitude of second vector

substituting the values, we get

10= sq root[ (6)^2 + (8)^2 + 2*6*8*cos(a) ]

or (10)^2 = [ 36 + 64 + 96cos(a) ]

100 = 100 + 24cos (a)

0 = 24cos(a)

cos(a) = 0 -----ok

so magnitude of resultant of two vector = [(6^2 + 8^2)]^0.5 = 10 units
