Two wires 'B' and 'A' are of equal length and have equal resistance. If the resistivity of 'B' is more than that of 'A' which wire is thicker and why?For the electric circuit given below calculate:(i) Current in each resistor,(ii) Total current drawn from the battery, and(iii) Equiva lent resistance of the Circuit

The resistance of a thin wire is greater than the resistance of a thick wire because a thin wire has fewer electrons to carry the current. The relationship between resistance and the area of the cross section of a wire is inversely proportional .

Current ( I ) = Volt ( V ) / resistance ( R )

1 ) I = V / R => 6 / 30 => 1/5 => 0.2 I

I = V / R => 6 / 10 => 3/5 => 0.6 I

I = V / R => 6 / 5 => 1.2 I

3 ) 1/R = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3

= 1/30 + 1/10 + 1/5

= 1 + 3 + 6 / 30

= 10/30

= 1/3

EQUIVALENT RESISTANCE = 3OHM

2) I = V/R => 6/3 = 3 I
