2 years ago your age was x years , so 5 years ago your age will be x - 3 years.

Remember that x is not your present age it is your age 2 years ago .

So your present age will be x + 2 years .

Now , if from present u have to find your age 5 years ago so u have to subtract 5 from present age  .

That is , x + 2 - 5 = x - 3 .
