Hey Friend,
Circuits are mainly of two types - parallel circuits and series circuits..
1. Parallel circuit -
Used to decrease resistance.
The total or equivalent resistance is always smaller than the smallest resistance.
1/Rp = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3 ...
2. Series circuit -
Used to increase resistance.
The total or equivalent resistance is always greater than the greatest resistance.
Rs = R1 + R2 + R3 ...
