Initial velocity = 4 m/s

Given

a = 5 m/s²

s = 8.4 m

v = 10 m/s

u = ? m/s

Concept to be used

We need to apply equation's of motion ,

→ v = u + at

→ s = ut + ¹/₂ at²

→ v² - u² = 2as

Solution

Apply 3rd equation of motion ,

\to\ \rm v^2-u^2=2as\\\\\to\ \rm (10)^2-u^2=2(5)(8.4)\\\\\to\ \rm 100-84=u^2\\\\\to\ \rm u^2=16\\\\\to\ \rm u=4\ m/s

So , Initial velocity , u = 4 m/s
