Question:

U is {-5,5} and A is {-3,5} . Find A' (A complement)?

Solution:

U = {-5, 5}

A = {-3, 5}

Complement of A, A' = {-5}

Explanation:

Let there be any set A.

The complement of A set means the elements which are not in A set.

In the above question there is a Universal set(U) given and also A set. Now, the elements which A set doesn't have from universal set that will be complement of A (A').

A' = {x | x ∈ U and x ∉ A}

This set can also be symbolized as U - A
