Although that's an absurd statement but yes it is possible.in a critical or dangerous situation a person's reflex work very fast he knows he has to somehow protect it sheild himself from the coming danger so yes it is possible that he can even kill a harmless animal as a cow in self defence.

I think this is right because after all the cow was after us. If it do something that is causing harm to us then we would surely protect ourselves. Cow is a holy animal according to some Hindu pandit but it is not according to Sanatan Dharm. Cow was just an animal donated to Brahmans so ppl considered it to be holy.
