I don't know if this is scary. But, definitely a story about ghosts and haunting!

Just another day, 6.30 A.M: The alarm rang. Prithvi’s eyelids felt heavy and he had the fleeting urge to run away. He opened his eyes and saw his 3-year-old daughter, Sanvi sleeping peacefully. He woke up from the bed and put on his sweat shirt which smelled like “Her” – his beloved wife, Sangeeta. It had been a month and a half without her and every hour dragged like a century. The scene of his wife dying in front of him haunted him day and night. He even forgot that it was his birthday that day. His mobile remained switched off. He wanted to disconnect himself from the outer world.  The cruel world, he thought. He would walk away without a word when someone from his friends or family mildly brushed the topic of remarriage. They believed that Prithvi’s phase of denial would fade away eventually. But, it never did!

The memories grew fonder and stronger – the sleepless nights, the endless talks, the happiness felt and the pain endured together! How would he forget their six years of togetherness?

The grief suffocated him. He turned to see Sanvi once again, sleeping like an Angel. Satisfied, he locked the door and started to walk, to get some fresh air and to ease himself for the sake of his daughter. He stopped at a shop to buy a carton of milk. His head pounded and Coffee was the key!

When he reached back home, Sanvi was sitting on the couch and watching TV. She watched nothing other than cartoons. He kissed her forehead and moved to kitchen. Suddenly, he heard a beep from the microwave oven. Puzzled, he tried to remember if he used it. “NO! Not me!” shouted the voice inside his head. And he realized that Sanvi is too short to reach the kitchen top. Mystified, Prithvi opened the door of the microwave and let out a gasp of shock. Inside the oven was his favorite chocolate chip cookie, exactly the same way that Sangeeta had baked for him a year earlier. He noticed the calendar.

Faiqa93: The story was really good, but the end was not so good, include much more details on it.
