The ozone layer, often known as ozone shield is a part of Stratosphere.

This layer absorbs the ultraviolet rays of the sun.

It is mainly found in the lower part of stratosphere, i.e., nearly 30 to 50 kms above earth.

It absorbs approximately 97 to 99% of the ultra violet rays of the sun, otherwise would cause cancer among the people on earth.
