United Nation as an organization came into existence in 1945 following a charter which proposed different organization under this. the headquarter of this organization is situated in New York , USA.

It majorly has 6 agencies working under it. They are

  1. General assembly-  with 193 member state, it takes decision on the grounds of appointing the Secretary General of the Secretary council, electing the non permanent members and approving the UN Budget.
  2. Security Council- Having 15 members,  maintenance of international peace and security is their primary responsibility. It can impose sanction and even use force to maintain peace and security in disturbed areas.
  3. The Economic and Social Council- It foster the policy and innovative ideas in economic, social and environmental matters.
  4. Trusteeship council- currently suspended its operation.
  5. International court of Justice- Headquartered at Hague in Netherland, this court provides arbitration in disputes among two member state of UN.
  6. The Secretariat- it carries out day to day work of the UN as mandated by the general assembly.
