United Nation as an organization came into existence in 1945 following a charter which proposed different organization under this. the headquarter of this organization is situated in New York , USA.
It majorly has 6 agencies working under it. They are
- General assembly- with 193 member state, it takes decision on the grounds of appointing the Secretary General of the Secretary council, electing the non permanent members and approving the UN Budget.
- Security Council- Having 15 members, maintenance of international peace and security is their primary responsibility. It can impose sanction and even use force to maintain peace and security in disturbed areas.
- The Economic and Social Council- It foster the policy and innovative ideas in economic, social and environmental matters.
- Trusteeship council- currently suspended its operation.
- International court of Justice- Headquartered at Hague in Netherland, this court provides arbitration in disputes among two member state of UN.
- The Secretariat- it carries out day to day work of the UN as mandated by the general assembly.
