the british rule led to the increase in arms[weapons] in india.
hunters hunted down huge animals with ease because of powerful weapons like guns.
in india, hunting was considered a pride, but many people stayed away from it as hunting with swords, bows etc was not so easy
after the advent of british, the outpour of guns emboldened even physically challenged people to hunt.
hunting was also the hobby of british officials
they loved to eat th meat of gharials[a type of crocodile], deers etc and used the skins and claws of lion, tiger etc as decoratives.
tonnes of tiger skin was exported to britain
thus the wildlife of india was badly exploited
many organisms got extinct
