Given 3x2 – 2√2 x – 2√3 = 0
Using the quadratic formula to find the roots of quadratic equation are - b ± b 2 - 4 a c 2 a , where b2 - 4ac is called the discriminant of the quadratic equation.
Here a = 3 , b = -2√2 and c = – 2√3
b2 - 4ac = 8 + 24√3
x = [ 2√2 ± √(8 + 24√3) ] / 6.
x = [ 2(√2 ± √(2 + 6√3) )] / 6.
