Under what condition is the heat produced in a conductor :
I) is directly proportional to the resistance
ii) is inversely proportional to the resistance

When the resistance is connected in series in the circuit same current flows through the resistor. As H = I2 RT, therefore heat produced is directly proportional to the resistance.

When the resistance is connected in parallel in the circuit, the voltage across the resistor remains the same.

As H = V2 T/R, therefore the heat produced is inversely proportional to the resistance.
