Formula of resistance

Resistance = resistivity × length / area .

This is the formula which represents a relation between resistance and resistivity .

Now if the resistivity and resistance are same :

Resistance = resistivity .

So put this in that formula :

Resistance = resistance × length / area .

Divide resistance both sides :

length / area = 1

length = area

Thus the length of wire should be equal to the area of cross - section.

This is the condition.
