Anaerobic respiration occurs when the carbon dioxide present in our body gets converted into lactic acid. This causes tremendous pain in the area which in layman's terms is called as muscle pull. This occurs when a person performs exercise for a longer duration

Answer:

Aerobic respiration occurs in the cell of the body when there is insufficient oxygen present for respiration. During exercise, more oxygen is required for more energy. Hence, the breathing rate increases. However, if the body does not respire enough, the cells respire anaerobically. During vigorous exercise muscle cramp occurs due to production of lactic acid by anaerobic respiration. The acid wears away muscles and causing cramps.
