There two necessary conditions for Total internal reflection phenomenon to occur
- Light should travel from the denser to the rarer medium (i.e the refractive index of the medium 1 should be higher then the medium 2 if the light is travelling from medium 1 ) n1 > n2
- The angle of incidence is more than the limiting angle which is known as critical angle. The critical angle will be calculated using Snell' law ,
