- Gangaikonda Cholapuram in the state of Tamil Nadu is a very beautiful community and is known as Gangaikonda Cholpauram in Ariyalur. Biggest temples constructed in the medieval period during the rule of Rajendra I. this temple was built somewhere between 1023 A.D and 1027 A.D. this temple and the village are rich in art and architecture and portray the period of Cholas during the reign of Rajendra I.
- The Great Sanchi Stupa built by emperor Ashoka in third century BCE, located in the state of Madhya Pradesh. It is said that the stupa has and preserves the ashes of Gautam Buddha. It is dome shaped or hemisphere shaped and is built with bricks on the remnants of Lord Buddha. It is a world heritage and is recognized by UNESCO. This stupa is sacred and homes art, architecture and culture.
- Charminar meaning ‘the four minarets’, located in Hyderabad in the state of Telangana. Built in 1591 by the fifth ruler of Qutb Shahi dynasty in order to celebrate the end of plague. It was the very first building in Hyderabad while the capital was being shifted from Golconda to Hyderabad during plague situation. It preserves heritage of the city and is a tourist attraction. The minarets, spiral staircases, domes, base shaped like lotus are depicted as Indo-Saracenic style of architecture.
- The Humayun’s Tomb, built in 1560 symbolizes Mughal Architecture. It was made by the help of Akbar. It covers a large area of 27 hectares and even has other major attractions like Mughal Garden, Babur’s Tomb and others. It is one of the greatest tomb built by both Indians and Persians together in unison.
