Multiplication of Fractions :-

when you multiply Fractional numbers you simply have to

Multiply the numerators (top numbers)

Multiply the denominators (bottom numbers)

If needed, simplify or reduce the fraction.

For eg.  2/3 X 9/8 =

\frac{2}{3} X \frac{9}{8} \\= \frac{3}{4}  ( dividing 9 by 3 and 8 by 2  or you can multiply all this and at last divide them !!)

Division of fractions :-

To divide fractions take the reciprocal (invert the fraction) of the divisor and multiply the dividend. … The top and bottom are being multiplied by the same number and, since that number is the reciprocal of the bottom part, the bottom becomes one. Dividing anything by one leaves the value “anything” the same.

For eg.. 5/10 is divided by 20/10 =

Then \frac{5}{10} X \frac{10}{20} = \frac{1}{4} (Second fractional no. turns to its reciprocal )
