Unit of time occurs
acceleration = change in velocity / time
we know that velocity = displacement / time
so acceleration = displacement / time / time
i.e., acceleration = displacement / time* time
so here in the denominator the unit of time occurs twice.
Hope it helps...

Hey here is your answer
______________________
Unit of time is stated twice in unit of acceleration because
The change in velocity per in unit time is known as acceleration
:. Acceleration = SI unit of velocity / SI unit of time
a = (m/s)/s
a = m/s^2
