The Universal Declaration was adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations on 10 December 1948. Motivated by the experiences of the preceding world wars, the Universal Declaration was the first time that countries agreed on a comprehensive statement of inalienable human rights.

Answer:

Human rights are built upon the belief that every human being must have some basic rights to lead a dignified life and live up to his/her potential to best possible extent. The United Nations General Assembly (on 10 December 1948 at Palais de Chaillot, Paris) adopted a declaration, the universal Declaration of Human rights (UDHR)

1) This declaration arose directly from the experience of the Second World War and represents the first global expression of rights to which all human beings are inherently entitled to.

2) It consists of 30 articles which have been elaborated in subsequent international treaties, regional human rights instruments, national constitutions and laws.

The Indian Constitution is also influenced by the Universal Declaration of Human rights (UDHR) adopted by the United Nations. The Fundamental Rights draw directly from the UDHR. These rights can be enjoyed by every citizen of India.
