unlike charges attract each other. so when the no. of electrons increase why it is difficult for the nucleus to attract.

In simple terms, in an atom, as the number of electrons increases, the number of shells also gets increased. Due to which the gap between the nucleus and outermost electron(s) increase because the force binding the nucleus and the electron together gets weaker.
