There was a time when none of the animals in the world had tails. The lion, being the
king of the animals, knew that something was missing. He thought and thought and
finally, came up with an idea. He invented-Tails. He carried a huge bag of tails and and
told the animals about his invention. The animals clapped and cheered their clever
leader.
The fox and the squirrel got a thick bushy tail, like a brush. The cat received a straight
tail and the monkey. an extremely long and curly one. A strong, silky, combed tail was
gifted to the horse. By now the bag was half empty, so there was not much choice left
for the elephant. He had to satisfy himself with a tail which looked like a piece of
chewed string. But he was happy. Last of all the lion pulled out whatever was left. It was
a marvelous golden tail. All the animals waved their tails proudly and celebrated
together. They were very grateful to their leader who thought so much about them.​
