Man's own survival depends not only on his capacity do
deal with the thermo-nuclear explosion but also on his
capacity to stop the careless plunder of the planet. He must
start applying the science of ecology to himself so that he
can learn, before it is too late, that he is a part of the
intricate relationship between all living things. Nature is a
vast treasure house of knowledge, but it is as yet hardly
explored. Some species are becoming extinct before they
can be properly studied.
Wildlife is a valuable asset as a renewable natural resource
particularly in developing countries and can contribute to
the economy, especially through tourism. Already in some
countries of Africa, for example, tourism may soon become
the leading industry and is an important source of overseas
currency. People, from all over the world, come to see and
photograph wildlife. If the animals vanish many of the
tourists would stay away. Wildlife, if intelligently managed and husbanded can also be a source of much needed protein . where there is an unavoidable collision between the survival of man and the survival of wildlife , human interest is likely to prevail. but such collision are rare and in most cases a little thought, integenuity and Goodwill permit co existence of man and wildlife.
