1. Urbanisation in India has been slow. Eg. from 18% in 1961 to 31.2% in 2011

2. Urbanisation has been more in the southern part than in the northern part of India.

3. Most urbanised states and cities of India are Goa (62%), Delhi (80%), Chandigarh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

4. In India, least urbanised states are Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, Odisha and Uttarakhand.

1. Urbanisation in Brazil has been rapid. Eg. from 47.1% in 1960 to 84.6% in 2010.

2. Urbanisation in Brazil has been more in the coastal states of the south and southeast than  the states in the interior of the west and north.

3. Most urbanised regions of Brazil are Sao Paulo. Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais and Manaus.

4. In Brazil, least urbanised states are Para, Maranhao and Piaui.
