The main causes of increase in Urbanization in India include:

Rapid increase in population. The natural growth rate of population in urban areas tend to be much larger than rural areas due to better medicinal facilities. Moreover, death age expectancy has increased in urban areas due to better health facilities so this plays a huge part. More advanced equipment and facilities get introduced and thus urbanization expands.

Expansion of Industry and Trade Sector. Growth in magnitude of business and trade is inevitable with India having an active market. This inevitably brings in new innovations in the country thus increasing urbanization.
