In the question , the following inequality is given .

We have to find the range of x .

Solution -

 \sf{ \bold { Given \: - }} \\ \\ \sf{ \leadsto { \dfrac{ 1 }{ x - 1 } \leqslant 2 }} \\ \\ \sf{ \mapsto { 2 ( x - 1 ) \geqslant 1 }}

Note that the function is undefined when x = 1 .

 \sf{ \mapsto { 2x \geqslant 3 }} \\ \\ \sf{ \implies { x \geqslant \dfrac{ 3 }{ 2 } }} \\ \\ \sf{ \leadsto { x \in [ \dfrac{ 3 }{ 2 } , \infty ) }} \\ \\ \sf{ \bold { This \: is \: the \: required \: answer \: . }}

Note -

For < and > , use ( )

For ≤ and ≥ , use [ ] .

Solution without LaTeX -

Given -

[ 1 / x - 1 ] ≤ 2

=> 2 ( x - 1 ) ≥ 1 for x ≠ 1

=> 2x - 2 ≥ 1

=> 2x ≥ 3

=> x ≥ ( 3 / 2 )

=> x ∉ [ { 3 / 2 } , ∞ )

This is the required answer.
