Cultivation in wasteland of Kerala
Kerala one of the India's highest educated state has its own scent of beauty, its a state of different culture, better education and invigorating beauty. But, this state have lots of wasteland that is seen as an obstacle in the development of this state. as a consequence of waste land the state has to export vegetables and other food from another states.
Nearly, 30% of this state near ocean is plunged with water contributing in the rise of the wasteland. The government of Kerala has been introducing many reforms and schemes to transform the wasteland into cultivable ones. But, the annual rainfall in Kerala is high this add some water in the area. This state is the largest producer of tender coconut which are in high demand in north-east India. Following the report, it says that the waste land can be transformed by 2056. This is a serious concern of the government because this decreases the per capita income of the state. The government has also introduced pipelines drainage system to deal with pollution in the state.
