urine formation 10th
Answers
Answer:
The kidneys filter unwanted substances from the blood and produce urine to excrete them. There are three main steps of urine formation: glomerular filtration, reabsorption, and secretion. These processes ensure that only waste and excess water are removed from the body.
It takes place by the following processes:
1• Ultrafiltration occurs in glomerulus under high pressure forcing many of the substances dissolved in blood into the Bowman's capsule.
2• The blood then passes through the tubular part of nephron where useful substances such as glucose, amino acids, salts and major amount of water are selectively reabsorbed.
3• The urine formed in each kidney enters a long tube called the ureter, which connects the Kidneys with the urinary bladder.
4• Urine is stored in the urinary bladder until the pressure of the expanded bladder causes the urge to pass it out through the urethra.
~The amount of water that is reabsorbed in the body depends on how much excess water is present in the body and the amount of dissolved waste to be excreted.
~As the bladder is muscular, it is under the control of nervous system.Hence, we can usually control urge to urinate.
