Step-by-step explanation:

Let say  a  = 1/(x + y)     & b =  1/(x - y)

then

5a - 2b = -1     - eq 1

15a + 7b = 10    - eq 2

Eq 2 - 3 * eq 1

13b = 13

=> b = 1

5a - 2b = -1

=> 5a - 2 = -1

=> 5a = 1

=> a = 1/5

=> x + y = 5    

& x - y = 1

Adding both

2x = 6

=> x = 3

& y = 2
