• as a result the heavy isotopic nitrogen was incorporated in newly synthesied DNA and could be distinguished from normal DNA by centrigugation.

• they then transfered the medium with normal nitrogen and took samples at a definite time interval DNA extracted after 40 minutes was composed of equal amouth of hybrid and normal DNA
