The product of (x+8)(x-10) is x²-2x-80.

Given,

An expression (x+8)(x-10).

To Find,

The product of the expression using a suitable identity.

Solution,

The given expression is

(x+8)(x-10)

Using the identity, (x+a)(x+b) = x²+(a+b)x+ab

Now, comparing the question with this identity.

The values of a and b comes our as

a = 8 and b = -10

So, substituting the values in the formula

(x+8)(x-10) = x²+(8-10)x+8(-10)

(x+8)(x-10) = x²-2x-80

Hence, the product of (x+8)(x-10) is x²-2x-80.
