k = 5 if (k, -3 ) lies on the straight line 2x + 3y =1 or  (5, k-2 ) lies on the straight line x - 2y +1 = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

2x + 3y =1

x y

-1 1

2 -1

5 -3

8 -5

(k , - 3) lies on this ( 5 , - 3) lies on this

hence k = 5

x - 2y +1 = 0

x y

-1 0

1 1

3 2

5 3

7 4

(5, k-2 ) lies on this

5 , 3 lies on this

=> k - 2 = 3

=> k = 5
