It is given that:-
right triangle with BC=7cm
and AB = 24cm

Now we will find AC with the help of Pythagoras theorem
(AC)^2=(AB)^2+(BC)^2
=(24)^2+(7)^2
=576+49
=625 cm
=25cm

Area of triangle ABC=1/2×base×height
=1/2×24×7
=84 sq. cm

Now length of BD
here base of triangle is AC=25cm
and height is BD
So area =1/2×base×height
84=1/2×25×BD
BD=6.72cm

Hope this helps you:)

Hi friend,

Here is your answer,
_____________________________________________________________

Since Δ ABC is right-angled triangle. So, we can use pythagoras theorem.
AC² = AB² + BC²
AC² = 24² + 7²
AC² = 576+49
AC² = 625 cm
AC² = √625
AC² = 25 cm

Area of triangle ABC = ¹/₂ * AB * BC
                                  = ¹/₂ * 24 * 7
                                  = 12 * 7
                                  = 84 cm²

AC ⊥ BD
So, height is BD and AC is base
Area = ¹/₂ * BD * AC
84 = ¹/₂ * 25 * BD
BD = ⁸⁴*²/₂₅
BD = 6.72 cm
