Hii dear here is your answer.

A state is divided into the constituencies on the basis of population. Every constituency elects one representative for the the legislative assemblies. The person elected as representatives represents the particular constituency. He or she is called as a member of Legislative Assembly (MLA). An MLA is elected through general election. He or she may be a member of recognised political party or independent. One who gets the maximum number of votes become the MLA of the constituency.
