Explanation:
There was a once a sailor who owned a very ancient boat. The sailor would often go rowing in the lake in the morning and return home in the evening. His wife would wash his soiled clothes with home made soap.
One evening there was snow storm. His wife was scared that he was still out in the lake. Luckily, he had sensed in his guts that a storm was coming. He had made it to shore when the storm started.
He did catch any fish that day but he had found several precious stones from a bag he had fished out of the lake. He was very excited and thoughts of how rich he would become permeated his mind.
His excitement would however cost him his life. He did not pay attention on the road and he crashed his car on a tree.
On finding out the news, his wife was overcome with grief. Friends and family brought roses, chocolates and food. They told that one can not have a rainbow without rain.
Explanation:
The village was about ten km from the road where Kay alighted from the bus. He had to row a boat to reach his home.
Oh! How much he missed his village and the people there. He especially missed Greta and was wondering how she would be now.
It was exactly five years since he left his village with his mother. His mother was diagnosed with cancer and he had decided to take her to the city hospital. He had taken up a job in the city and took care of his mother as well. He lost count of the days that went by until his mother’s death.
She became seriously ill one day and knew that she was going to leave this world. She told her son, “Take care, dear son. All that I request of you is to go and visit the home we lived in and make it a point to maintain contact with your roots there. They are all the family you have and are genuine, affable people. " After she passed away, Kay set forth to see the people of his village.
The sound of a stone falling into the water broke his reverie. He realized he had reached his destination. As he got off the boat, he could see a huge rainbow on the horizon. The clouds looked like a snow-capped mountain. There were beautiful roses all the way. He plucked one for Greta and decided that he would stay in his village and do what he always wanted to do - Fishing.
Thus started another chapter in Kay’s life.
