Use the words listed below in a paragraph that explains how the Sun’s energy is transferred through an ecosystem. carnivore, consumer, decomposer, herbivore, omnivore, producer.
Answers
The food chains plays a vital role in the distribution of energy to all living organisms. As the name says, it is the flow of energy in a chain pattern through many trophic levels. Living organisms in one tropic level become the source of food for the next trophic level organisms.

The Sun is the ultimate source of energy for all living organisms. We animals, don't have the ability to obtain the solar energy directly but we can obtained energy from sun in a indirect way. Plants are autotrophic organisms, which means they can synthesize their own food with the help of sunlight. The Chlorophyll pigment in leaves traps the sunlight. After the synthesis of food, the food is stored in fruits or in other parts of the plant which is consumed by the herbivores. Thus the plants are also known as producers. As the herbivores and rest trophic level organisms are consuming food, they are known as consumers. Primary consumers obtain their food from producers thus they are known as Herbivores. Secondary consumers obtain food from primary consumers ,thus they are known as carnivores. Then, sometimes tertiary consumers are also there, which obtained their food from secondary consumers, they are higher carnivores. Omnivores are those organisms which obtain their food from producers and herbivores, sometimes from carnivores also. As last, the dead and decaying matter of all these organisms are consumed by decomposers, thus they clean the environment. In this way, the energy is flowed through the food chain in the ecosystem.
