Answer:

let the total length of saree be x

cost of 1/2 m           = Rs 220

then cost of 1 m      = 220 × 2

                                = 440 Rs

cost of the saree     = 440x

but the given cost of the saree is Rs 2640

⇒    440x = 2640

⇒          x  = 2640/440

⇒          x  = 6

thus length of the saree is 6 m

\bold{ANSWER}

here,

• she \bold{bought} a saree for Rs. 2,640

•so the total \bold{amount} paid by her = 2,640

•the cost of \bold{half\: meter}= Rs220

•so according to this,

=220 ÷ 1/2

⇒ 220 x 2 = 440

•so, rs.440 is cost of \bold{one\: meter}

= 2,640 / 440 = 6 meters.

( 6 - \frac{1}{2} )m

( \frac{12 - 1}{2} )m = \frac{11}{2} m

therefore,

5 \frac{1}{2} \: m \: is \: the \: answer

hence , she \bold{bought} home 5.5 meters of saree.
